The quote is not the product
A £400 template and a search-first commercial site are not the same object. If a quote does not mention information architecture, Core Web Vitals, forms, redirects and analytics, you are buying a brochure — which is fine, if that is what you wanted.
We will not publish a fake ‘average website cost in 2026’ statistic. The honest answer is a range that depends on pages, integrations and whether the site has to generate work.
What actually moves the price
Number of distinct templates, CMS or custom build, integrations (CRM, booking, job management), content that has to be written rather than pasted, and whether SEO and tracking are in the same engagement.
Ongoing cost is the part people skip: hosting, Search Console, content updates, and the person who notices when a form breaks.
How to brief without wasting a week
Send the current URL, the services you want more of, where customers actually are, and what happens to an enquiry today. That is enough for a serious conversation. Moodboards are optional.
